The series Nachtweiche depicts the fluid state between no longer quite asleep and not yet quite awake. This moment speaks of the simultaneity of disappearance and emergence.

The works visualise both the unconscious and the moment when the blurred shifts into conscious perception. They describe the space between the diffuse and the concrete – a liminal space in which everything is simultaneously present and absent.

Nachtweiche describes a state that many of us are familiar with: light is perceived even through closed eyelids, sounds reach our ears muffled - as if we were underwater - and thoughts are not yet fully formed until the self reconnects with the outside world.
